Want to know a real red flag for me in movies? "Based On A True Story."

I see that in a promo and a red flag just springs up.

The latest being this movie called "Possession."

The thing is, script writers, producers and directors can take a "true story" and embellish it up the yin yang, yet still call it "Based on a true story."

Oliver Stone is really notorious for doing this.

So now we've got yet another "possessed by demons" movie, embellished to the point of being 99.99999% fiction, but still "Based on a true story."

1. You mean because they change almost EVERYTHING, and then still say "based on a true story"?

ANY of the "Amityville Horror" movies.

The originators of that story made up the whole thing just to cash in.

The house itself is still standing, and the current owners never see anything weird.
Except when "Amityville Horror" groupies show up.

The strangest oddest most unbelievable parts of the movie actually happened.

I always think of George M. Cohen after watching an alleged biopic Yankee Doodle Dandy he remarked that it was a swell picture but who was it about?
