Any other fans of Brussels sprouts, here?

I find it hilarious that so many people think it's the worst veggie ever, because I love them, a little bit of melted butter or cheese and a little pepper and I have a nice little snack or side.

06I wouldn't recomend new york asian escort buying films new york asian escorts from a porn site as new york escort many times they are in the money cheating business and that's just new york escorts not right. I would rather buy from an adult store which specialises in adult material and products

Trader Joe's of all places has been selling stalks of sprouts. I don't know if it's a nationwide thing or just the Bay Area - after all, most sprouts come from about 50 miles from here.

One of my memorable Thanksgiving dinners featured Brussels sprouts I bought near Monterey
the day before - the guy was bringing in a fresh wheelbarrow full of them from the fields - that went straight from the stalk into salted water, cooked briefly, and served plain. They vanished in minutes!

I like to lightly steam them. First, I clean them, then I cut the ends and peell away a few of the outside leaves which I eat raw (cook's privilege). Then I cut them in half lengthwise as I've learned that they cook more evenly that way. Then I put them into a plastic bag with lemon juice and seasonings and shake the bejeezus out of it so that the sprouts are covered with seasoning. Then into the steamer they go.

The trick here is not to overcook them because (wiki) overcooking releases the glucosinolate sinigrin, which has a sulphurous odour. The odour is the reason many people profess to dislike Brussels sprouts, having only ever tried them overcooked. Generally, six to seven minutes boiled or steamed is enough to cook them sufficiently.

My wife will boil the frozen ones until they are just about mush and then salt, pepper and butter. Eat em till they're gone.

Sometimes we find good fresh ones and I'll toss them in olive oil and garlic and then bake them until the outsides are brown and crispy and the insides are fluffy brusslesy goodness.

and quickly sauté them, so I bought some nice fresh Brussels sprouts at the farmers market. Ye Gads- it would have taken an hour to separate all the leaves so instead I cut them in half, steamed them in a medium frying pan with a little water for 3-4 minutes then poured off the water and added a little butter and olive oil and sautéed them just until they were tender al denté- YUM!
A friend said adding splash of balsamic vinegar is good- I'll try that next time.

They're so damn cute! LOL

Actually, my middle son loves them even more than I do. He's 22 and a total addict to roasted Brussels sprouts. All of my other 4 boys gag when I mention them, but at least I raised one son the right way.

Mom tried to get me to eat them when I was a kid; hated 'em. Years later I tried them again, thinking I might have outgrown my childhood loathing.

Nope. They still taste like rotting garbage. I tried a couple ways of cooking them. I still hate them.

I like to freeze them, and then take them out when needed. I love the flavor. It goes better with my food than Bokchoy, which sometimes you can choke on, if you are not careful. Love the flavor of them!
