The rug has been on the floor about 24 hours

and one of the dogs has already had diarrhea all over it. FML.

1. I went to visit my aunt one time with my parents. It was winter so dad had those spikey

ice pick like attachments to his boots on. We all took off our boots. My aunt mentioned that she had a new rug for the front hall and showed it to us, all rolled up and leaning against the wall. We visited. Somebody layed the rug out in the front hall......on the way out my dad's spikes caught the rug and pulled out a thread about two feet. It had been laying on the floor for literally minutes before my dad almost destroyed it. LOL! I can laugh about it now but it was not that funny at the time.

2. I think that might be a corollary to Murphy's Law.

Any new rug will be peed/pooped/vomited on by a pet/child within 48 hours of its arrival.

3. The Law of New Things strikes again.

It had to happen.

But I am really sorry to hear this. That was a horrible thing to have happen---even on an old rug. I hope it wasn't an expensive one.

but we DID have it cleaned last week.

...couple weeks ago, I was wearing a lovely new shirt for the first time. Picked up a cat, and cat shredded shirt.

Sigh... that's life with critters.

7. Oh god--what a nightmare.

We have hardwood floors downstairs, and whenever our dog has diarrhea he goes on one of the rugs--never the hardwoods.

14. We sat on lawn chairs in the living room for three months

so that we could save up for a new sofa.

It was beautiful. It had been in the house less than twelve hours when the dog chewed a hole in the arm the size of a grapefruit. The first thing I did when I got up that morning was go to the living room to look at my brand new sofa. And what did I see? Little bits of cloth and foam all over the floor. He had to have spent most of the night doing it. He couldn't eat a hole in the cushion, a part that could be replaced, no, that would be too simple. Go for the arm.

And Alex, sitting there, all happy and proud. "Look! Look! I made it myself. Isn't it great!?"
