When I first saw Shamus, I automatically thought of multiple whales.
Then, I got thwapped for being wrong. Seamus definitely looks better, and confuses me a lot less.

My girlfriend was outraged that her sister named that baby "Sean". "Why did she spell it like that?! Why not Shawn? Everyone will call him Seen like bean!"

Now being of Irish/Scottish heritage I was perfectly comfortable with a boy named Sean and I thought long and hard about pointing out to her how Sean was indeed the correct spelling but in the end I supported her in her outrage.

It was hard enough to get a girlfriend - I certainly wasn't about to get dumped simply for pointing out she was wrong.

But sorry, Raccoon: Bob Dylan wasn't born Dylan. He took his name from Dylan Thomas, so who's to say the parents aren't naming their kids after a Welsh poet?

When you run into kid named "Zimmerman" that'll be a shocker!

(Edited cuz Autocorrect is the apotheosis of evil )

Philip David Ochs (December 19, 1940 – April 9, 1976) was an American protest singer (or, as he preferred, a topical singer) and songwriter who was known for his sharp wit, sardonic humor, earnest humanism, political activism, insightful and alliterative lyrics, and distinctive voice. He wrote hundreds of songs in the 1960s and released eight albums in his lifetime.

PS I think most people are naming the kid after Bob Dylan. Most of them probably never heard of Dylan Thomas.
But I can't PROVE it.

Many Dylans are named for Thomas, not Bob -- including Bob himself, whose driver license reads "Robert Zimmerman".
