I work with someone who just described himself as a super-genius

And he wasn't kidding. He was talking about his unique and important insights into the use of video games to identify and train the next generation of military recruits.

I asked him if he has seen The Last Starfighter. To his credit, he understood the reference, though he dismissed it.

In my experience, there are only two types who self-describe as super-geniuses:

1. Delusional fools
2. Coyotes

It is possible to fall under both categories, of course.

why is he running around telling people he's a genius? Not the best way to win friends and influence people.
