Good Night Sweetheart

Tonight is probably my last night with my baby.

She's been there for me for about 10 years and has helped me through some of the worst times of my life.
Now, I can't help her. She's 16 and her Kidneys are failing.

Tomorrow morning I get the call to determine how long she has left and what the quality of that time will be.
I can't sleep. I keep crying.

Her name is Paws. She's resting on the couch right now and I can't fix her.
I've always been able to fix things, it's what I do.

I took her in at the age of 6 when her previous owners didn't want her anymore. They had a new kitten and she wasn't welcome there.
It was a Halloween night and I could not see her being put out when the local teens try to kill animals on Halloween.
We bonded that night and have had each others backs since.

She's my girl. I feel like such a failure because I can't fix this.

I'm alone right now and don't know what to do. She's my girl and I'm useless.

and I'm sorry your baby and you are hurting. I had to help Squirty the head cat over to the rainbow bridge 2 weeks ago. Her kidneys failed. Paws has lived a very long and good time with you, and she will be waiting by the rainbow bridge for you. I am so sorry

just pour it all out right there with her. thank her for all of the good times and things you have shared. she will really understand your heart by your voice and words. she will go in peace and be grateful to you that the kidney pain is over. it sad to say good bye. i am sorry.

the most and needs to be set free. Making the decision to let her go will be one of the hardest things you ever do, but she will remain forever in your heart.
