Trascoli
(194 posts)I was disgusted but didn't show it. I told him crows are very intellegent and can live 20+ years. A few months later he told me he would never shoot a crow again. Somehow I got to him, he seemed sad, he didn't know they could live so long.
I don't know why people are freaked out by crows. I love watching them, they are very curious and smart birds. They don't come to my yard often, but when they do I throw scraps of bread out into the yard. They all sit around for a while, planning, thinking, wondering if it's a trap. It's great to watch them.

Wounded Bear
(58,440 posts)They don't have many buzzards. but they do have crows, which are also scavengers.
Crows used to flock to the battlefields and devour the dead. During the Black Death, crows would often get to the corpses before the people did to bury them. That's why humans, especially those of European ancestry, are "freaked out" by crows. The presence of flocks of crows, or murders if you will, is usually a bad sign.
