Last night I watched it up til where the grandmother told Edith to find something to do.

Did she find anything?

(I go to bed real early these days.)

1. Remember how she said she was going to write the paper about

women's vote/rights? She did, and they published it, so it looks like this is her new passion.

2. Thank you. You know, realistically, after WWI there was a shortage of men

in England and France, same as in the South there was a shortage of men after the Civil War.

Undoubtedly many women in these circumstances died as bachelorettes.

Of course Edith could visit her American relatives and maybe find some American man there.

4. ughh. Im not enjoying this season

I made the (mistake?) of reading the Season 3 episode guides on line and do NOT like the direction it went this (last) year....

7. I got the season 3 DVD and agree. Spoilers inside. Do not look if you don't want to get spoiled!

How could they kill off two important characters like that? The first one is bad enough, but the last one in the final episode was just horrible. I understand budget constraints and such, but really. On the other hand, it will surely make for a really interesting 4th season (already in production).

The second death, if I remember correctly. I haven't seen it, just read British recaps.

I hate it when they do that.

I'm the kind of person who reads the end of books before I'm through the first chapter. And I know he dies -- but how and why?

Budget? WTF? He's one of the main characters.

hospital) was being killed off.
"I didn't know he was that sick"
"He wasn't, he just asked for a raise."

It's turned into a 1920's 'General Hospital' type soap. I half expect season 4 to have someone 'come back from the dead' or a long lost' 'twin' to show up.

And the death was so contrived and ham fisted. No thanks.

Basically it's boogie-woogie piano, but her ladyship describes it as "a rocking and rolling boisterous racket." Then she marries a black American sailor and gets a bunch of tattoos.
