So, what are you doing RIGHT NOW?

Me, I'm looking out my office window at near white out conditions followed by peeks of sun.

And, trying to draft a petition for the United States Tax Court and lay out a logical argument as to how the IRS effed up calculating tax due on a client's return, and then find a polite way to say that the IRS fucked up.

I can't really just come out and say "The IRS fucked up" no matter how much I would like to.

from guardian financial reports for my mother. First time having to do a full years worth of accounting and attempting to figure out what numbers go where!

And btw, Denninmi, I want to say how much I appreciate your open and honest sharing about your mental health. I dance with depression myself and have seen the effects of different mental health issues on 4 generations of my family. I wonder sometimes about how much is nature and how much is nurture.
Peace!

I hate doing those. People tend to give me very incomplete records and then look puzzled when I tell them it won't balance.

I have kept pretty good records for the past year. All receipts, bank statements, trust reports... Just a matter of figuring out how to put it all together the way the court report wants it! This is my first year. Once I figure it out for this year, next year will be a snap!

My hats off to anyone that has to deal with this on a regular full time basis!

I don't know if this would help by giving you something to go by, but this is the form the probate courts here use:

http://courts.michigan.gov/Administration/SCAO/Forms/courtforms/probate/pc584.pdf

Basically, it's just a balance sheet -- starting point, add income, subtract distributions, losses, and expenses, and hope it balances with the amount you have left.

every minute the voice comes on and says "thank you for calling. we will get back to you in a minute."

so far I've been waiting 20 minutes. Then every so often a voice says, "Do you want to return to the automated system.?"

But I was in the automated system, that led me here.

This is after 10 minutes waiting for Social Security so I could disagree with their action on my "Extra medical help". After 10 minutes, I'm told someone will have to call me back.

it's a wonder more people in this society don't go plum crazy.
