(66,310 posts)I got to meet him backstage after the show. My father had known his son in Vietnam and sent word backstage after the show to send his regards to Montalban's son.
Montalban invited us backstage to meet him. I was only five or six at the time, and had never heard the word 'charisma'. But, boy, did he ever possess it! He had both an awe-inspiring, commanding presence, and also a gentle graciousness that was wonderful to behold. He was very sweet to us kids, and greeted my father warmly as if he were an old friend. I've never forgotten that, and when Montalban died, my family sent a card to his son, Mark, offering our condolences.
Ricardo Montalban was one of the good guys.

(5,909 posts)I can't even figure out what the title is after looking on imdb but we had to watch it for I think a history class and he played an Indian.
Have to admit, didn't pay attention as I was sitting next to my best friend and we whispered through it.
Didn't do that with all movies in high school, but I did with this one. She's still my best friend; I'll remind her of it the next time we talk--she'll get a kick out of it!
