But I don't get shitfaced on it like those guys. I reserve that behavior for whiskey.

Seriously, those guys were dangerously drunk. There's nothing fun about being in that state of mind. A sixer on a Friday night sure tops off my week right, though.

Keep up the good work! I ache to visit the UK and when I do, local pubs and local beers will big a big part of my trip.

....and i may be able to suggest some top pubs!

In London the place I like the most is the Southampton Arms, which is gloriously retro with great beer. The Cask & Kitchen is very expensive but very friendly with a beer range that can justify the high prices.

Also, a visit to Kernel brewery in Bermondsey is an excellent way to spend a Saturday afternoon in London.

I would however suggest avoiding Brewdog bars. Vastly over-priced, with barstaff fully trained in bullshitting, and Brewdog's vido blog playing constantly in the background. It's almost like they are trying to brainwash you in there, which really isn't needed.
