Anyone who has spent time in Fort Collins, CO, knows how many Canadian Geese overwinter there (there was a translocation experiment in the 60s that was successful beyond any expectations)... But now, it is amusing to see lines of geese waddling across roads, Boulevards and even major thoroughfares, while motorists wait and learn the meaning of patience. Fortunately, I've not seen any become assholes--the Geese eventually cross the road and traffic once again resumes. But, even if I've been in a hurry, that scene could not help but elicit a smile.

(Denver likewise has its share, but Fort Collins' numbers are pretty exceptional...)

Maybe if one of those geese ended up on somebody's dinner table, it'd justify the tedious walk off scene with a commentary on the purposelessness and vacuity of life in the 21st century.
