Will also be my first girl, I wanted another male originally but all the males in the litter were reserved and I REALLY wanted a pup from this particular litter. Now I am excited about a girl!

(11,065 posts)Big doggies have big paddle feet that seem to grow to full size looooong before the rest of their various parts catch up.
She's just cute as a button!

(14,120 posts)Be careful. Little girls are so easy to spoil.
My little Dixie was. She was named that because it rhymed with her twin sisters, Trixie. My mother named her.
She was very thin haired so she had to have things to cover her going out. She could sun burn easy. So, being a proud mommy, I got her a little wardrobe. I even made her a little closet. She would wake me up every morning when it was my day off with the dress she wanted that day. On days that I worked, I'd come home with her waiting with what she wanted to were on her morning walk.
I miss her so

The Joplin Tornado took her.
So when this sweet thing comes to you, giver her a hug for me.
Add: Her mother was a min pin and Dachshund mix. Dad was a full blood Lion Chow. She got her Moms size, long body and legs. She was a little over a foot high. But she got her Dad's odd gun metal gray color and gold eyes. Her dad was a prize winner. Then he trashed my mother's six foot oak privacy fence to get to my mother's sweet little dog. He had been whining and "singing" to her for a week! Love will not be blocked by Oak!!

(28,394 posts)We always had males before. The girls don't always get along, but when they do, they are inseparable!

(332 posts)I have always loved GSD's and have always had one. I have one now pic below and also have a Rat Terrier (i think that is your other one too?) Also, my second favorite is Welsh corgi which I also have one of and our newest is a Mini Schnauzer.
I think the female decision is a good one she will be the queen of the boys in no time. Sometimes 2 females are not a good idea especially with certain breeds. The corgi's are an example of 2 girls NOT getting along.
Keep us posted with pics and what you name her..........

(6,011 posts)I love her pretty eye color and those black toes and big feet!
I hope she doesn't drive your two boy dogs crazy by walking alongside them and nipping their necks. Years ago I had a flat-coated shepherd mix older male and got a female puppy. She wanted him to play and kept annoying him, maybe it was because she was part heeler and Australian shepherd, and had to 'herd' him, but he was such a polite old gentleman he didn't say, "NO!", emphatically enough.

(6,001 posts)she's solid.You're gonna love her.
One warning from a former shep breeder since you haven't had a female. The males are lots of bark and pomp and shit...the females are much more serious.
The males bark and pomp and strut and usually it is blowhard shitstirring. If the female get's that hair raised low growl shit going...she isn't playing or primping...she means business.
LOVE the breed and she looks like a GREAT girl.
Good luck and grats on an adorable pup

(683 posts)Very interesting. I have never wanted a female, but now that I am getting one I am really excited about it!

(13,661 posts)brought a female shepherd back from Switzerland (they'd been there for a year and adopted a GSD); they then adopted an enormous white male GSD once they settled down in NY. The female was, hands-down, the absolute boss and a truly fearsome guard dog. The big ol' male galumph was a sweetheart. Scared everyone because of his size and deep bark, but the female was the one who'd take you out if necessary.
