Survival Reality Shows

Any fans? I am watching classic "Survivorman", but my favorite is "Dual Survival". Watching a minimalist going into the hell zone barefoot is strangely inspiring. Has anyone learned anything helpful, or even better yet, leaarned something they actually got to use from these shows? I'm addicted to them.

Beautiful landscape, dry and desolate

I watch a survival show once in a while mostly depends if it's in an area I know or what to know about.

Man Woman Something

The main thing I've learned is that the people who go on Survivor must never watch these shows.

to watch Survivorman, but it wasn't pizzazzy enough for me. I mean, on most of these shows, there is a film crew, and there's some slick editing, maybe even some scripted bits, but Survivorman seems much more basic, at least the first episode in the Arizona desert.

Do subsequent episodes get more interesting?

Are generally more low key. That said, Survivorman goes more deeply into the philosophy and mindset of survival. Bear Gillis (sp?) Is usually more flashy.
