(95,337 posts)I've been playing Tropico 4, where you build your own tropical 3rd world nation so I'm in a bit of a dictator mood lately.

(12,132 posts)and I am batting 500 on censor or not censor.
Like I wrote in my latest one I fucking hate censorship but we all have agreed to join this community and abide by at least a modicum of civility so I really don't see it as true censorship since the poster of the offending post is perfectly free to restate his or her opinion in a non-assholish way. The idea is not censored, just the delivery.
It is distasteful for me to impose my views on someone else and I resent that people (offending posters, not admins) make me do it but do it I will as that is what I signed up for and I won't go shirking duties when asked. This forum has provided me with tons of information and thoughtful posts and entertainment and camaraderie and the least I can do is help when I'm asked.
I expect I'll fuck up more often than not but that's why there are 6 jurors and not just me, lol.

(11,854 posts)Hubby got his 'invite' the day before Christmas. What a way to get initiated into jury duty! He was able to receive a waiver until February though, then he has to go back through the approval process again. Sgt. Szczerba's killer is coming up for trial soon - either late Feb or Mar. Hope he doesn't have to serve on that jury.
OK - I have a question about DU juries though -- When the message that was alerted on seems mild compared to some of the other messages/call-outs above and below in the given thread, what do you do? What I've been doing is just take that one message alerted on (after researching immediately related messages) into consideration. Some of them I've been like "well I wouldn't have alerted on that, but this other message being responded to would have been worth it."
