What a difference a day can make.

I posted this whiny thread yesterday morning ----> http://www.democraticunderground.com/1018318390

I'm feeling better today. I took lunatica's advice and got some energy vitamins. I took one when I got home from work last night and felt better almost immediately. Maybe a placebo effect, but maybe not. I also got up this morning well before the alarm went off and now feel better than I have in many mornings.

I took my test and my midterm yesterday after work. I don't have a score for the test yet, but I think I did pretty well. I got a 96% on the midterm.

So it was probably a combination of things: a long winter, a need for some vitamins, maybe a little burn out. I've been on this schedule since last May. Also, our dog Swifty is having a hard time right now which is making me feel sad. We've got an appointment with the vet this afternoon. He had a cataract in one of his eyes that's become ulcerated. The vet is going to give us our options for dealing with it tonight. The eye would probably be removed if Swifty were younger. My wife says that he may not recover from the surgery now. We'll see what the vet days.

He said he didn't believe it would help much until he saw results in other dogs that his partner had treated. He said they were helping my dog, too. Just a suggestion...

Glad you're feeling bette and thanks for the reminder to take my vitamins today. I often forget and I have been awfully tired lately..

Sometimes the solutions are happily very simple.

I hope the vet comes up with a simple solution for Swifty too.

And let me tell you a secret we older folks find out as we age. Your best years are ahead of you. My forties were a bit tough because of that mid-life crisis thing and menopause and getting a divorce, but I went back to college, learned how to use a computer and entered the work force. My fifties were a blast! I loved being alive more than at any other time in my life and I'm still feeling it at 64. I have no plans to retire so I take care of my brain so it'll keep serving me as well as it does now. I've turned into one of those go to people for both work related issues and and for life experience. Essentially the wise older woman. I don't say it much, but I'm in a cool place in my life. You do grow wiser as you age.

6. this is Jen - Swifty UPDATE

This is Jen - Toby is snoring away in bed....

I stayed home with Swifty today - and he was 100 times better than he was yesterday - he wasn't able to keep any food down yesterday and his eye looked terrible! It was all doom and gloom around here last night - I couldn't quit crying.

Woke up this morning - Swifty's eye showed NO SIGNS of a cataract - I thought maybe I had gone crazy or it was wishful thinking - when Toby got home - he couldn't see it either. Swifty ate mashed potatoes, chicken and rice. Seems to be back to normal.

Took him to the vet - the pressure in his eye was 75 on Wednesday - today it is 35!!!! He is on some pain medication and 4 different types of eye drops that seem to be working.

Thanks for the good vibes everyone - I will let Toby continue to update you.

Jen
