JR Ewing, the evilest bastard that ever was (next to Dick Cheney) has been shot and (spoiler alert!) killed.
An fabulous career that has finally ended on the perfect note.

It was difficult for me to believe when I first saw him again in his role as JR that he was then 80 years. He did not miss a beat. It was like he shot the last episode of the former version yesterday. What an accomplished actor.
I agree this was the perfect exit for his character ... I miss him already.

(202,970 posts)I've wondered if the new show has enough of a following to survive without JR...

(22,057 posts)As to the show in general, I'm a fan of both young male leads and love the original cast members plus Brenda Strong as Anne Ewing, Bobby's new wife. Judith Light has starred in a guest role in the last few episodes and she has been the epitome of EVIL. What an exceptional actor! Absolutely brilliant.....

(202,970 posts)Since she has them all, but has fallen behind. She got me started on the new series, saw the first two with her and I was hooked. We were a little disappointed/confused by Bobby's new wife, but I guess that not everyone wanted to come back. And I agree that the young male leads are terrific. I alternately hate/feel sorry for John Ross, so I guess he's pretty effective.
I haven't seen Judith Light, but I also agree she's very good. I never watched the show she had with Tony Danza, but I remember her as the evil Karen Wolek on "One Life to Live..."
