(that don't cost a fortune)?
Thank you!

(14,910 posts)Prismacolor, they offer a wide color range...
For a 'middle-of-the-road' variety try Polychromos, they offer an average color variety and feel good in the hand.
For a high-end option; at least check out Luminance, less color range, they are lightfast...however they are EXPENSIVE
Good luck, enjoy!

(2,173 posts)I've gotten sets from art stores and frankly can't tell the difference from the inexpensive Crayola pencils. I honestly don't think there is a difference other than price.

(13,661 posts)I only think of them for crayons. Maybe for this first initial effort I should just go with those --- save myself some money and see if the need to have them continues.
Thanks talkingmime!

(6,234 posts)I like to keep them very sharp and build to the color and depth I want with multiple layers. Don't SMUDGE!

(8,360 posts)Crayola is fine too. We use these every day in the classroom. I buy several dozen packs during the back to school sales.
