On Monday my orthopedist gave me the all-clear to get back behind the wheel. I'm still in the brace for another 2 1/2 weeks, but she unlocked it so I can flex my knee.
When Dr. B. said "yes" to my question ("can I drive?" , I was watching Mrs. V.'s face. The relief in her face was starkly visible. It is a tremendous relief to both of us.
And about the knee: it's good. She poked and prodded and tried to make it hurt, but it didn't. Yay!
But I care more about my beloved's relief.
Thanks for everyone's comments and ideas in my thread of last week. DUers rock.

(149,583 posts)I'm so glad your knee doesn't hurt anymore, and wow, you can drive!
I knew you were in a bind, and I felt awful that there weren't any visible solutions! But now you have the best outcome...

Take care.
