(34,131 posts)This morning a big gorgeous fox was hanging around the south side of the house. I'm not sure if it was a red or gray fox - we have both around here, both can be reddish but red foxes usually have a white tip on their tails which this one didn't.
He was trying to catch some of the squirrels that come to our bird feeders and generally looking for food. It was fun watching him. I thought about trying for pictures, but if I went out with the camera, he would have run away.

(30,947 posts)When I was a kid, my mother had fox furs with the heads and tails still attached. I used to dress up in them. Of course, I did not know any better than and just thought they were cuddly furs. Now, as an animal rights advocate and vegetarian, I have long since given away any furs that I once had.

(11,213 posts)and it was really very unsettling! It was the kind with the poor, entire animal head, feet and all!! It just pained my heart.

(7,515 posts)When I lived in VA I would see them just off the road, in the woods...the color of Irish Setters...They are so beautiful.
