This guy boasted that he could play any stringed instrument calling himself King Of Strings

While I’m generally not a fan of country music, I do recognize and appreciate some of the musical giants in that field like the late Doc Watson and the lightning-fast country and bluegrass picker Joe Maphis. Les Paul had the Les Paul model Gibson guitar named after him. Joe had the Mosrite Joe Maphis model guitar named after him (in fact several versions of different necks, such as two 6 strings with regular scale and short scale neck tuned an octave higher, or a 12 and 6 string neck).

The quality control was great. The rhythm guitarist in my first rock band in the 1960s had a Mosrite "Ventures" model. The action was legendary, so low you could put a pick under the top "E" string at the 12th fret, turn the guitar on its side, shake it, and the pick wouldn't fall out.
