Or at the very least, a lot of fun. Beautiful garden.

Yup. I like it. Don't know if I'd like so much color inside - I'd like some tranquility. But the vivid outdoor pop of color is wonderful

(1,999 posts)The square footage was about 1650.
I wish I owned it now; it's worth far more than my bigger house in the 'burbs. And it has a nice vibe, or it did last time I was there. Now the neighborhood is gentrified and full of Portlandia-type people with a New Seasons just a couple of blocks away, so maybe not so much.

(13,661 posts)No one can drive past Lucinda Hutsons little house in Austin, Texas, without gawking. Its not so much the bright purple color of the house, although thats certainly eye-catching. The house is a showstopper because lush gardens engulf every inch of outdoor space. Facing the street are annual flowers, herbs, roses, vines and perennial shrubs and trees, all thriving in the carefree confusion of a cottage garden.

It's a lovely garden...

I thought it was a specially clever kind of tree that grew stripes. "It's been watching Tim Burton movies", I thought. But lights are just as good.

(1,999 posts)The house was blue, though, and had a front lawn and flower beds. I love this!
