I just had a tooth extracted today

My left upper molar, which broke, dislodging the filling, was killing me for about a week and a half and the pain wouldn't subside. I went to the local dentist and found out the tooth was not only broken, it was also infected, damaged beyond repair.

Memories of my childhood dentist visits hit me like a ton of bricks--needles and all! Ouch! The dentist numbed my gums and pulled out the tooth. I wanted to keep the extracted tooth for a souvenir, but because it was infected and showing the beginnings of rotting, I was denied the request. Doc also warned me that the broken tooth beside the ex-tooth could be the next one to go.

Only problem now: I can't drink hot coffee or alcohol (would sting and dry the socket) until the socket heals. At least I know the pain will eventually go away.

I had a tooth extracted at the end of last year. I will have my implant very soon. The gap is in the back so thankfully nobody notices. Still I cant wait to get that implant drilled in.

will work almost as well. Just let it cool down to room temperature. I've been through similar and it is dibilitating. Clove wont cause dry socket. Another thing to consider is Knorr vegetable boulion (spelling?). After you make it, toss in a few ice cubes to get it down to room temperature. It's basically all salt, and will hurt at first, but the salt will help seal the gums. My daughters used that when they got their wisdom teeth pulled and it was quite effective.

Didn't you get any good drugs? Usually they prescribe hydrocodone or something. It makes you loopy, but it does help with the pain.

The codeine knocked me cold and made me loopy, hence my leaving DU for the day yesterday.

Besides, I'm on a tight budget and don't have Knorr anything--not at those prices! This afternoon, I'm starting a warm, salt water rinse of my mouth. I had the molar extracted late yesterday morning.

I still feel a bit loopy.

They're generally about 20 cents a package and that packet of spice will go a long way with salt water just to give it some flavor. It's mostly salt as well, but you can probably stretch one packet over at least ten cups of salt water. Just save the noodles for later use.

I had a molar extracted last Wednesday. The extraction site still hurts, even though I am following the surgeon's directions for care.

Hopefully, we will both feel much better, very soon!

would dull the pain, eventually.

That would be my remedy for you.

Hurt from teeth is one of the worst, hope you feel better soon.

Alcohol stings like hell and may well dry the socket where the tooth was.
