Wow, Paul Newman and Geraldine Page smoking pot in the movie Sweetbird of Youth (1962).

It is Tennessee Williams day on TCM.

Paul Newman plays this younger man to Geraldine Page older actor.

Paul Newman was hot looking.

I have never been a big fan of Tennessee Wiliams before.

Geraldine Page was hot also.

The movie is hot.

He is walking around now with his shirt off.

He had a good looking chest.

I was just a little kid back 1962, didn't notice things like that then.

Those blue eyes...and so sweet he loved his wife. Funny, we buy his products--pizza, salsa---and we were talking about him to our son the other night.

My husband had to get the dig in that all the profits go to charity and repubs would never do that---my son is getting wise and when we were talking about him said was he a democrat? We were like hell yeah!

Not many did in Hollywood.

He and his wife made a movie together, something like Long Hot Summer.

You could see the attraction between the two then.

They lived in CT (where I'm from) and Vanity Fair ran a big article after his death and I remember reading he pulled over on the side of the road when some people had car trouble and helped them out.

Really good guy.

Paul is driving this big old land caddy.

Those old cars were big.

I drove one once, it was like driving a small bus.

A big V8 engine.

It was fun to drive the caddy on the highway but not in the city.

I was glad to get the car home to the new owner.

It is the Bad Movie by which all Bad Movies must be judged.

It is assumed, however, that this was the intention all along - to make a truly awful movie; in this regard, it was a wild success. The way they threw every cliche possible into the last 20 minutes was absolute genius.

"Roadhouse" - so bad, it's awesome!

Newman came to the campaign's Franklin County Field Office in Columbus, Ohio while I was volunteering there during the final months of the campaign. He was a 'Veteran for Kerry,' and as the most prominent vet for Kerry in our office, the director told me I had to meet him. I said, "Okay."

It was a brief meeting, but the guy was as cool and as charming as ever. I almost ended up as a fill-in on a speakers' panel with him that evening, but our no-show made it at the last minute.
