Four days before St Pat's and my local whiskey store is out of Jameson.

All I could do was stare blankly at the manager and say "Seriously? Do you know what happens this weekend?"

It turns out that they have several cases coming in tomorrow, and will set some aside for me.

But I came home empty handed. So I shall be having martinis, or some scotch, once the sun is over the yardarm this afternoon.

Roseanne Rosanadana was right. It's always something . . . .

It has quite the rap sheet also. Flying under the influence, indecent exposure...

Can't find even half of what I need, because I recently moved. I have no idea where some of this stuff is.

Sigh. Anyway, bypassing wine, and going straight to the whiskey.

The manager, though, to his credit, was appropriately horrified at this shortfall. I have no doubt he will make it up to me in some small way. Which usually takes the form of a couple of unusual, or otherwise interesting, miniatures that mysteriously appear in the bottom of the sack / box.
