"Cooking" - (alternative) - pancakes made of toast?!1

Here's da deal: I don't know how to cook if the definition of cooking is my mother's 20 people or whatever.

But I improvise / substitute. So think about THIS: What about toasting whole grain sliced bread, then pretending it (4 slices) is pancakes, and adding oil/butter-whatever and non-fat-calorie "syryp" and then SCARFING "as if" pancakes?!1

Eggs and carcinogen pork optional.

1. You know, if you beat an egg and dip the bread in it first, then fry it like a pancake

then you have french toast, which is pretty close to pancakes, at least closer than just toast.

3. Well what I get is the need for pancakes sometimes, or a reasonable substitute

And actually you should add a little bit of milk and vanilla to the beaten egg, then dip the bread in and fry.

French toast is a good vehicle for maple syrup!

after pancakes!

And if no maple syrup around, sprinkle toast w a bit of sugar on each side (after mostly cooked) and give each side another few seconds.

P.S., translation of French Toast into French is 'pain perdu,' literally 'lost bread!'
