I don't know that I would want to pay for one but I think I'd like to sit on one just once....

Does yours have a smooth, German engineering ride? Heated padded leather seat? Sporty handling?

9. The name derives from sailing ships in which the toilet for regular sailors was placed at the bow.

Although the aft of the ship should then be called the foot.

6. My experience with German heads hasn't been positive

I remember when I was in Germany the thing that used to piss me off is every German toilet had a different flush actuator. So it was like a goddam puzzle figuring the thing out. This is further complicated by the fact that many of them don't have the 'pool' like American toilets have and instead have a 'shelf'. So instead of plunk-plunk, you hear plop-plop. The smell hits you soon afterward and you realize why American toilets have the 'pool'. Now imagine yourself in a public restroom in a stall after squeezing one out. The smell is overwhelming as you try and figure out exactly how to push, pull, kick, squeeze, grab, or twist the actuator. Meanwhile the guy next to you is speaking angrily in German that you don't understand, and the best you can figure is he's asking for a courtesy flush.

That's why I hate German heads.

it has something to do with amount of water used in the process...germans are big on the environment and all that.

However, ive always suspected the real (and unspoken) reason is so they can inspect their waste for parasites. The germans are known for their Teutonic cleanliness and insuring they arent serving as a host seems like something they would do.

11. I figured it was for some sort of inspection, but confess not parasites.

As for water use and cleanliness - that damn shelf was always a source of extra flushing for me so...???
