How long before a spoiler becomes a non-spoiler? (spoilers for Walking Dead & Big Bang Theory)
How long is it before a “spoiler” from a book, movie or TV show is no longer a spoiler? I think the revelation of who Luke Skywalker’s father is should no longer be considered a spoiler, unless the person is from another country/culture and has not had exposure to the Star Wars movies. (I think there may be a remote island in the Pacific somewhere…)
However, in a recent episode of “The Big Bang Theory” about spoilers, when Sheldon & Leonard make up, Sheldon mentions catching up on The Walking Dead, then asks Leonard about the episode where Lori died. In reality, that episode of The Walking Dead had aired in November of 2012, only three months prior to the spoiler episode of Big Bang Theory. (They also had a spoiler about a character in Harry Potter dying as well)
Is that too soon to reveal a major spoiler like that?
