your head from chin, over ears, over top of head and back like in the old time cartoons of a toothache.

Now you have a nice pouch to slide ice packs in , alternating sides every 20-30 minutes.

did you keep the teeth?

The tooth fairy leaves premium vodka under your pillow for wisdom teef.

Also - feel better soon!

but I didn't want the dentist thinking I was weird...after all, he's kinda cute and I don't why he would choose a profession digging around folks mouth..

Were you completely knocked out, or just sort of?

I've needed to have my wisdom teeth out for years and really want it done, but the prospect also freaks me out.

The only times I ever could have had it done was when I was in the UK, and I didn't get it done there, because that's the only way they'll do it (something about responsibility and some such).

Lasted for a week and only gave me Tylenol 3. I was 18 when I had them out.

My C-sections were a breeze and I got percocets.

Don't mean to scare you---everyone's different.

having blood spittle drooling out of your mouth for a day!

Takes a few months for the holes to heal over, will be a magnet for chunks of food.

Don't suck on that straw to hard as it will hurt!

So much so, I can't fall asleep, bright red and lots of clots...I read about putting teabags on the gums to help it clot...so trying that, but no work for me in the morning, I've been up all night

Had both sides done (upper/lower), one side at age 24 & the other maybe at 32. Over the decades, my crooked bottom front teeth had room to spread out, and therefore STRAIGHTEN up, which appeared to be a fine little benefit. But now, scores of years later the effect has been that the whole FIT of the jaw has changed, with some kind of -- not grinding-- like the sound of knuckle-cracking of the jaw. A doctor (not dentist) immediately glommed on this when I mentioned it, said this could lead to something or other that might require surgery. I don't have dental insurance and it didn't seem so bad as the symptoms he was referencing, so I let it go. Just saying, unintended consequences... sometimes. Wishes for your speedy recovery.

got desperate for protein/meat, so I pureed a chunk of moosemeat!

With bread, creamed corn and spices - not bad!

Used my blender alot back then, cutting meat up into small chunks, cooking it gently, then into the blender!

1st time I ever "drank" meat

Actually, it had the consistency of baby food, weird sorta,

but DELICIOUS!

A few years ago I had both upper wisdom teeth and one lower one removed. I refused the steroid shot they use to control swelling since I use insulin (steroids screw up blood sugar), and the next day I woke up feeling energetic and pain-free with no swelling. The lower tooth had a very long root, so they had to break it in pieces to get it out, which took a while, and once in a while I would feel some achiness there, but the only evidence I had that my upper wisdom teeth had been removed were empty sockets. Ho-hum.

I have no explanation, really, just thought I'd mention what a breeze my wisdom tooth removal was, since it makes no sense.
