I put people on ignore if they reach a certain level of annoying me. I don't have enough time to do everything I want to during the day. So I try to cut out those things and people that aren't likely to lead to anything productive or useful. And it's the same number of clicks to put them on full ignore as it is to put their posts on ignore.

If you (the following is all addressed to the anonymous 8 ignorers of CP, not you GCG. have California Peggy on ignore, ignore me too.

And I don't mean I think I'm some kind of hot shit. I sure haven't been here long enough to build much of a reputation at all (except to whoever that 1 is lol) and in the grand scheme of things, ignoring me or not won't make much difference to Peggy or me or you anonymous ignorers. But what I am saying is in the short time I've been here, CP has shown herself time and again to be a lovely, wonderful person with a giant heart and a couple thousand bucketloads of compassion for all kinds of people. So if I get a choice of who I get to hang out with - people like California Peggy or people who ignore California Peggy - I'll pick California Peggy people all day erry day.


Furthermore, even if you ultimately ignore me I won't ignore you. One: because I won't know who you are and, Two: Because I still feel like I can learn. Even from people who don't like me. Maybe you have a damn good reason to not like me but if I ignore you I might not ever know what it is and I will have no chance to examine my behavior. Or maybe I can learn other things from you...maybe you will write a post one day that explains perfectly why a certain political position is preferable to one I currently hold. I would hate to miss out on a chance to grow. Or maybe you will post a neat recipe for what will become my new favorite dish. Or maybe that cartoon you post will absolutely make my day when I've been having a rough week at work. You might mention a book or TV show or movie or music or artist that I had never considered before and i find out I love them.

It's a shame we won't get to have a conversation regarding whatever I learned from you but that's the way it goes I reckon. That's OK. I still learned. And I bet California Peggy will join me in being happy about whatever that thing may be.
