(82,383 posts)5. I remember watching a show Peter Ustinov's Russia
years and years ago. He took a wine glass to Lake Baikal, dipped it in the water and filled it, and drank right from it! He made the point the water was pure enough to drink straight from the lake. I wonder if that is still so.
