19. Vitale used to be really knowledgeable

I used to be a mega-fan of college basketball, and even had some articles published in national magazines on college basketball back in the 1990s. Back in the 90s, I could always tell that Vitale, even though he was over-the-top with his enthusiasm, really knew his stuff and did his homework before each game he broadcast. In between the exuberant statements, he'd give the listener some good solid information.

However, over the last 10-12 years or so, he's slipped into becoming a caricature of himself and has been coasting on his reputation. He's still as enthusiastic as ever, but he doesn't give you the insightful knowledge he had before - he's not doing as much homework, it seems, if any homework at all.
