The tabby we had when I was a kid. My brother found him (as a newborn kitten) on a golf course.

I love her. She was feral. I tamed her even though she was an adult. Well, she's almost tame. She won't be picked up, which is troublesome because we can't get her to the vet for her shots. But she is sweet and adorable.

My favorite tabby ever, in fact the cat of my heart forever, was a gray and white tabby named Harry. He died two and a half years ago at 16, and I think of him every day.

He's a fluffy ginger tom. Since Daddy's passing, Moose rules the roost.

We named her Monsoon.
She currently rules our son's apartment.

You know, like a cattle brand.

Our favorite orange tabby was named Seanie, but his full name was Sean Timothy Michael Murray.

I was owned by a gray tabby cat for 17 years (hence the screen name) and I still miss him every day.

for the original cat who cuddled up in the manger to get/give some body warmth from Jesus. Okay, no remarks form the peanut gallery

One of my coworkers had four (!), cats, one of whom was a "talico" (a calico with striped patches instead of solid-color ones). I was attempting to explain this to the boss, who proceeded to ask "What's a calico?"

(pause) (to myself) "Well, he did go to prep school in England, so maybe he thinks of it as a 'tortoiseshell'..."

"What's a tabby?"

Nope, he's a dunce.

In fact, we called him "the Little Dunce". He was about 5'6", and was given to saying lots of duncey things like that. There was a woman who rode down with me on the train from New Haven who used a wheelchair and had a service dog. One day she took the later train, so she and Ike rolled down the street right in front of our office, which had a big bay window. So the Little Dunce says, "Is she exercising that dog?"
