we get to have some fun with our tax refund

after owing or getting very little back for a couple of years, we're actually getting back enough to do something for ourselves.

it's been some time since we've been able to get away, so i booked us a couple nights at a cabin outside estes park. we've stayed in another cabin on the same property before, but i scored us the one with the private hot tub overlooking the river. there's a grill on the deck that i fully intend to use, early april in the rockies or not.

i'm trying to talk my husband into a fancy dress up dinner in estes, but he's not buying it. i have a couple weeks to wear him down, though

After finally being debt free 2 years ago for the first time, we racked it back up---braces, car stuff, appliances. I really hope nothing tanks big in the house--my friend down the street just had their pipes replaced as one burst--4 grand. Ours is going to bills, but at least we got a refund--had to pay on state.

I probably just jinxed us.

i'm going to try to get ahead on a few bills, too. we've been just getting by for about six months and it's nice to finally have a bit of breathing room plus some fun money.
