Post-us Inter-ruptus

How does the world operate with the internet constantly going down in one way or another ?

First we had dial up EarthLink then DSL EarthLink -----all went well for a while then meltdown city

#2 was ATT all was well then blammo crappy speed & chewed up phone lines ......

#3 we have cable modem ---sat phones working off cable / it works pretty well then oooops there it goes ....

So what do you have ? do you like it ???? how many providers have you had ?? and how come businesses don't just nose dive into hell when their internet dies ?

Fiber Optics ???? secret string and cans ??? again sorry for my ignorance and technical dumbth.
