(48,217 posts)until 2006. However, Nara Dreamland was not the only Japanese theme park to go under. They were overbuilt during the economic bubble of the 1980s.

(14,400 posts)Frontier Town in North Hudson NY up in the Adirondacks. I've seen it from the highway a few times but haven't tried to get in.
