I think that mingling Mediterranean with Asian condiments often ends up weird. Oregano plus soy sauce, for instance. Or thyme with cilantro.

Fusion is a tricky business, and can sometimes end in disaster.

although people do use them together. cilantro overwhelms the more expensive truffles

Truffles should be enjoyed without anything to mask their exquisite flavor.

what a waste of both but I think a good chef could make chocolate work with lemons .

Both of them compliment probably the widest ranges of other foods than anything else, but they don't compliment each other--except for the "dessert" cheeses, like cream cheese and marscapone. But, chocolate and cheddar, Havarti, Peccorino Romano, blue cheese.... Eeeeewww.
