Patricia especially had to deal with excessive pressure because everyone expected her to hit this one out of the park. It's not the first time that a contestant choked during a competition which should have been their strength.
But Richard was a trainwreck waiting to happen. He had run out of fresh ideas and was expecting Patricia to give him something to work with. I have yet to hear Patricia conceptualize something where someone can understand it before it goes down the runway. The judges were right about the team dynamics. The print on her dress worked because she added handpainting to it. But the textile design was pretty bland otherwise. Richard had nothing to inspire him and I don't see how that could have changed unless he stepped up and demanded she put something down in writing where he could visualize it better.
Layana. What can I say? Truthfully, I think she was freaked out about being paired up with Daniel from the beginning which is why she tried to take command of the competition. I can't defend her, except to say she did give Daniel ideas, and Daniel didn't back her up.
