1. I subscribed to both Groupon & Living Social in both Denver and Ft. Collins--since I frequent both

After more than a year, I have used Groupon once--to go to the zoo. The rest of the offers have been pretty worthless.

I am considering dropping them as well. I don't need the extra four spam emails/day.

2. It seems that most of the offers around here are for (still) expensive getaways

and expensive restaurants.

I did buy one deal, though: $10 for $40 at a Baltimore Italian restaurant. I have yet to go though, but I have till June.

I've also noticed that most of their offers are for 2 or 4 people. They have very few offers if you want to do something by yourself.

3. I don't want to know what the original cost was, but that would cause tooth decay.

Well, it would at least cause brain decay. Has he forgotten his undies yet? He's on the flight path for that, and then the heavy drugs. That's the nature of the beast.

please read these:

An anonymous career banker inside Goldman Sachs opened a twitter account (GSElevator) with the intention of revealing the hilarious banter that takes place in the privacy of the GS elevators. Since then, the account has evolved to include things overheard on trading floors, bullpens, lobbies and bars. Some of the conversations involve more than one person, and the participants are distinguishable by their number (#1, #2, #3).

Here are some of my favorites from the past several months…

#1: "Groupon… Food stamps for the middle class."

#1: "If you can only be good at one thing, be good at lying… because if you’re good at lying, you’re good at everything."

#1: "My garbage disposal eats better than 98% of the world."

#1: "Living my life is like playing Call of Duty on Easy. I just go around and fuck shit up."

#1: "I never give money to homeless people. I can’t reward failure in good conscience."

#1: "By now, protesters just look like pigeons to me."

and I don't remember where I found this.....just that it makes me ill.
