Daryl Hall I think has one of the greatest voices alive.
Anytime -I mean ANYTIME- I hear him sing me and Mrs. Jones I completely melt.
One of the Greatest voices of all time that made my knees weak.

(3,445 posts)I always think of my friend who committed suicide and how confused I was (and still am) over what happened. In fact, the Williams Brothers' album that's from is full of songs like that for me, but "Can't Cry Hard Enough" is definitely the topper.
Another song that always puts me out is this performance of "A House is Not A Home" by Luther Vandross.

(8,646 posts)Who can resist Chris Cornell's voice?
Love this live version.
I came of age listening to this album, can't leave Kurt out.
Is it weird to get weak in the knees at someone's screaming 'shut up'?
Finally, the best for last - this band has an unfortunate name (they were FIRST!), but Jeff Martin is definitely my favorite male vocalist EVER. Also, a great Canadian band:

(49,038 posts)This is a pretty bad recording, but the difference between his studio version and his live performances is great enough to suffer through it, especially at the end.

(19,459 posts)I love both her voice and the instrumental accompaniment. Takes me directly back to a very significant time in my youth every time I hear it.
I was farther from anywhere I'd ever been, and had crossed a divide from which there was no returning.

*swoon*
Couldn't stand LZ way back in high school, mainly because that's all the guys would listen to and it got really old. I was into Heart, Yvonne Elliman, Bonnie Raitt, Fleetwood Mac, the Allman Bros and Clapton; bluesy/folky/southernish rock was it for me.
Now as an old woman, I just love to hear Plant croon about his lemons
(Saw he and Allison Krause at Bonnaroo and it was pure awesomeness. He let out one of his old style vocal sirens and all the guys around us went CRAZY screaming. Lotsa fun.)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds his voice swoony in my dotage....

(719 posts)....my wife and I were going through what folks call "a rough patch." We were separated for nearly five months. I missed her and my then eight-year-old daughter so much that I barely was able to get out of bed in the mornings.
And, of course, that son-of-a-bitch Michael Bolton had a single out ("How Am I Supposed To Live Without You?" that seemingly played at least once an hour all day long on the radio at work....which did absolutely nothing to improve my mood. *
We eventually resolved our differences and reconciled....but to this day I absolutely cannot stand Michael Bolton's music. I am given to understand that this is not uncommon...but for me it was personal. If I ever meet him, I'll punch him right in his fucking face.
Not exactly the sort of testimonial you were looking for, I'm sure.....
