(4,440 posts)We hiked in on the Wildcat Canyon trail, about 3 miles of easy hiking, and then left the trail and set up camp for day-hikes into the back country.
Here's a brief descritpion of the trail, and another link that's a good source for info on Zion:

(43,890 posts)Between Doctor Coss, Nuevo León, Mexico, and. Miér, Tamaulipas. A small waterfall I know, two hours drive from Reynosa, then two hours more by dirt road, and a final hour by motor boat, up river.
A place surrounded by ahuehuetes, the majestic trees called the old men of the river. There is a small waterfall. Pristine clear waters, among the rocks, and a small cave underneath the waterfall where the water is translucent, and small fish can be scooped up with your bare hands.
I was there once, almost forty years ago, with a woman I have loved dearly. I was happy then.
I want to visit that place one more time, before I die.

(30,947 posts)And I do not want to do it again. Lived in South Florida and made many trips to the keys. But I am in North Georgia now and close to the mountains of Tennessee, which I prefer to the tropics.

(12,377 posts)so in some respects it is much the same as living anywhere else... you still go to work in the mornings, clean the house, buy the weekly groceries, pick the kids up at school. But we never forget how special it is.
P.S. ... One year the grade school had their Christmas party at the Lorelei. While the little ones were singing "Rudolph the Red nose Reindeer", the parents were sliding over to the cabana bar for a refreshment. Only in the Keys!

(12,132 posts)that's a kick ass pic.
But if I hadda pick one place right now: The bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond
I'm told my people hail from there. THat golf course looks pretty nice - as badly as I play they might not let me lol.

(20,776 posts)I have also been to Osaka, however .. at the time I was 6 months old. I don't remember a thing, obviously! I am sure the second time will be better, if I can ever afford to fly again. Not to mention all the massive probing and x rays you have to go though before you even get to see the seat of a Jet.

(32,079 posts)...above all, I really, really want to go home:
Wish I could be there tomorrow. In the morning, I'd go visit my alma mater and stroll along the lakefront. I would spend the afternoon here:
Then I'd have some dinner, and then spend the evening here--on the glass:
I'd spend the weekend visiting the museums, and maybe take in another Flubs game.

Her, in that place, well, it made my whole life worth living.
