The Northwest's snow and ice storm left us without power for 2 days.

The electricity just came back on about an hour ago. Wow. You never truly appreciate electrical power until you have to do without it. In the middle of winter, no less. There was absolutely nothing for me and Mrs. Aristus to do after the sun went down at 5:30pm each night, so we took a hot bath (together... ) then went to bed. We would read by booklight for an hour or two, then go to sleep. Sometimes for 10 hours at a stretch. With the house so cold and dark, there was no incentive to get out of bed.

I love the togetherness the power outage promoted.

But I'm glad to have my light and heat back. Not to mention, my DU!

Good to see you all again.

I love you all...

PSE said at one point, 250,000 homes were powerless!

At least all this snow and ice has stopped!

I'm so glad you're back among the heated living!

I do find it difficult to believe that there was nothing for the two of you to do, though...

We love you too!

I could've gone out today but I've lost the will to drive. Maybe (yawn) tomorrow.

Everything has melted but it just seems like so much effort to get in the car and steer it into town.
