These guys where way ahead of their time! Jack White "I couldnt believe what I was hearing. When I was told the history of the band and what year they recorded this music, it just didnt make sense. Ahead of punk, and ahead of their time.

(12,132 posts)I now have TWO bands named Death that I love.
Here's the other one:

(24,461 posts)The only Death I knew up until about 6 years ago was the death/thrash band I grew up with and saw as a kid. I didn't know there was another one.
Both bands were pioneers and both have leaders who tragically passed away.
RIP Chuck Schuldiner and David Hackney.

(12,132 posts)But at least I got to see Death before Chuck passed away. I never even heard of David but I wish I had. Now I got some catching up to do.

(5,029 posts)I was into the MC5, Alice Cooper, the Stooges, and then when punk hit America I was all over the Sex Pistols and the Ramones and the Clash. Drove my roommates up the wall.
These guys could hold their own with any of the better known Detroit bands from the early 70s. Amazing sound. I love it.
