PSA: My first tick bite...

It was a dog tick, not a deer tick and I got it before it had really attached but it was a wake up call. My dogs have already been treated (I started Vectra in April) so I think the ticks get a ride into the house on their fur. So be sure to treat your pets but also check yourself everyday. The dog ticks are relatively harmless but the deer ticks carry Lyme disease. Dog ticks are bigger (about the size of the tip of an eraser), deer ticks are small (the size of a pencil point).

We've moved into a community with so many dogs that I'll need to start PIA on everything again.

There's wildlife in abundance. I'm surrounded by apple, pear and cherry orchards.
