Light ruins beer and I don't care how dark that glass is, the can blocks all light.

Some, Oskar Blues comes to mind, have been strictly cans. Not so crucial for high ABV darker brews, but hoppier, lighter brews survive better. Light degrades the isomerized alpha acids created by hops, creating that classic skunky smell and taste.
