This has to have some Lounge appeal. John Morgan pleas for Tebow.

“I’m John Morgan of Morgan & Morgan, and I wanna talk Tebow for one minute. Here’s the evidence. Tim Tebow played on two national championship teams. He won the Heisman as the best college player in the country and was drafted in the first round by the Denver Broncos. Somebody knew somethin’. And after he got his only chance to start, the Broncos were 1-4 and he led them to the AFC playoffs, and beat Pittsburgh.

“The Jaguars are 27-42 in the last five years, one of the worst records in NFL history. And more in store for this year. We can’t even fill an entire end zone.

“Tebow is one of us. He has class, character, and he’s a winner. Let’s win, Mr. Khan. Once upon a time, so-called experts probably doubted your potential, and now look at you.

“Give our guy a shot. I’ll even buy that box your tried to sell me. Remember this: You can’t TiVo Tebow. Let’s do this Mr. Khan. For the people. Let’s win.”

he brought so much excitement and pleasure to Gator fans, but everyone knew he'd have problems in the NFL.

I think the real problem has little to do with mechanics... but the fact that he is not very bright. No matter how much film he watches, he still can't read defenses and is easily fooled if anything new is thrown at him. In today's game, particularly at the so-called 'skill' positions, brains matter more than ever. imho

Everyone except Josh McDaniels, who I believe was actually hired to be Pat Bowlens pool boy and instead ended up at Dove Valley.Pretending to be a head coach and despite having inherited the leagues #2 offense, and despite NO OTHER team showing any interest in Tebow,Micky D traded up, scattered that #2 offense to the winds and drafted Jesus, errrrrr Timmaaaaaaay.

The Denver sports scene,Bronco blogs and message boards became inundated with new Bronco fans, very many of whom knew next to nothing about football beyond their perception that Denver needed a holy man at QB... "Football fans" who voiced wishes that then QB Kyle Orton have his knees taken out or his neck broken. That Vice President of Football Operations John Elway,Owner Pat Bowlen and subsequent Head Coach John Fox perish in planes crashes, etc.,for not playing Tebow soon enough. The circus behind the media circus.

When Tebow did finally take over as QB the winning streak he is now mistakenly remembered as being almost solely responsible for,was actually due to: A) The defense playing above its level and keeping the game close, B) Opposing Defenses being caught offguard by the,at first, unpredictability, newness and uniqueness of how Timmaaaay was used. Not yet realizing Tebow had no consistent accuracy or how easily he'd be flushed from the pocket and resort to scrambling, they blanket covered the receivers and stuffed the backs leaving Tebow free to run for big gains.
As with every other "new offensive wrinkle",it took defenses a few weeks to catch on/up.When they did catch up,Denver lost something like 3 of their last 4 games, winning a 3 way race for the division title almost by default, with San Diego,Kansas City and Denver all trying to show who could suck the most. The Broncos didn't so much win the division as much as they were gifted the title, winning it with the worst win/loss of any playoff team, including the wildcards.

The playoff game in Denver, against Pittsburgh went to overtime, again due to the D keeping it close AND the Steelers being minus a couple of key players on their offense and their QB being hobbled. The big TD pass that won the game was a freak of nature and probably couldn't be replicated in a mlllion tries, yet Tebow is a hero.

Hero enough to be shipped off to NYC,pretty much the only interest, thankfully taking his circus groupies with him.

That said,I think he could have made it as an H-back,MAYBE a full back, though he'd need to learn to block or even a Shannon Sharpe style Tight End,except he's said to have hands of stone and can't block, and can't absorb/retain the playbook.

Legendary collegiate Qb?...Maybe...Probably...NFL or even Canadian or Arena QB?...No fuckin' way.

*ETA*
Sorry for the rant...

and yet more proof that Brady can make anybody around him look like a superstar.

Not just McDaniels; Charlie Weis went to Notre Dame and from being thought of as an offensive genius to looking ordinary; Belichick was a .500 career coach who'd been fired by several teams as a head-coach, defensive-coordinator and position-coach that immediately got better as a result of his departure; Brady's made okay WRs look better than they are (Deion Branch); scrubs look like decent players (Julian Edelman); and I expect that Wes Welker will soon make his latest contract look like a disaster, he was below-average before he came to NE.

Based only on his "I make crap look professional" record, there's an argument that not only is Brady better than Manning...but that Brady is just better than anybody under center ever. Nobody makes shitty talent look respectable like Tom Touchdown.

But yeah, McDaniels was not good for the Broncos.

I think he is again...He was back on the Pats sideline last year, after a year on the St.Louis sidelines...There have been several Belichick disciples who have gone on to spectacular flops at other teams.None have enjoyed any notable successes, that I can think of.

I can't argue against Brady being a better QB than Peyton, though both are unquestionably "top tier." Manning is surely in what will be his final hurrah year, from age,if from nothing else, and as such is bound to have lost a little speed and mobility, maybe even arm strength and/or accuracy,we'll find out shortly.

I thought he was kidding when he told me earlier that was his plan.
As far as I know he's never lived near New England but he loves some Tom Brady. As a lifelong Cowboys fan I am legally contracted to not say anything nice about potential Superbowl opponents but since our owner is such an idiot we won't be going to any for a while I feel comfortable in saying that Brady is one kick-ass QB.

I certainly wouldn't name my kid Romo. Or even Roger and I grew up watching Roger Staubach.

Another friend named his son Nolan and even got a personally signed letter of admiration from Mr. Ryan for it.

Interesting...Of those who can be credited with having an authoritative, informed opinion,he has to be in a small minority.
One thing though.Tebow would probably help fill some seats and sell a boatload of jerseys.I can't imagine he'd accept or even entertain the offer.
