I want the Giants (I despise the Patriots and Bili-cheat) but I really don't care about this one. I wanted it to be Ravens and 49ers but it seems like every single team I root for this post season winds up losing. Go figure.

a couple plays did them in (the dropped pass and missed FG). In the playoffs, any mistake can mean no Super Bowl since it's just a one game elimination.

Which has tons of Giants AND Patriots fans. I guess it will be interesting to us. We are kind of inundated with sports here being surrounded by the Giants, Pats, Jets, Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Celtics etc. Not to mention Uconn basketball. My father took me to my first Yankees game when I was 12 and had me watching Giants games before I was 10. And I was a girl. And it was really normal around here. I mean, we had Red Sox vs Yankees fistfights at school. Its all a bunch of silliness but I will be watching the Superbowl while my Dad roots for the Giants and my husband roots for the Patriots.

However, I'm not intrinsically a non-football fan. I can name, from memory, all these players from the Ram's of the late 60s:

Roman Gabriel - QB
Dick Bass - RB
Les Josephson - RB
Ken Iman - C
Tom Mack - OL
Joe Carollo - OL
Joe Scibelli - OL
Charlie Cowan - OL
Billy Truax - TE
Jack Snow - WR
Bernie Casey - WR
Wendell Tucker - WR
Pat Studstill - K/WR
Bruce Gossett - K
Lamar Lundy - DL
Rosey Grier - DL
Merlin Olsen - DL
Deacon Jones - DL
Myron Pottios - LB
Maxie Baughan - LB
Jack Pardee - LB
Clancy Williams - DB
Eddie Meador - DB
Tony Guillory - DL/ST
John Kilgore - K

But football has gone way downhill since the late 60s, and I just can't drum up much interest any more.

Bart Starr, QB
Fran Tarkenton, QB
Billy Kilmer, QB
Joe Theissman, QB
Roger Staubach, QB
Roman Gabriel, QB

edit: I had forgotten that East Rutherford had lost to the Deadskins twice. Think about that.

Brady and Belichick are still pissed about four years ago.

And the next defense that finds a way to cover Gronkowski (who is roughly the size of a refrigerator) and the other tight end (Hernandez?) will be the first.

he's got a mild ankle sprain.

The Pats totally have Cruz covered. It's the role they drafted Patrick Chung for, jumping up into man-coverage of big-bodied WRs the AFC East is full of, just like Cruz. Hit him a few times hard so he hears footsteps, then you can start using McCarty to jump his routes and get INTs. Chung was hurt most of the season, missing 8 games and playing 3 more hurt. He's healthy now.

Flacco put the winning TD pass into the belly of the WR who could not hang on. Joe Flacco should have beaten you.

Eli Manning may be the best QB in the NFL. He's already beaten the Pats twice with lesser teams.

The Giants owe the fact that they're in the SB to the Niners return guy. They're out of their league. This is going to be fun to watch for Pats fans.

As for laughable, Eli Manning isn't even the best Manning at the QB position in the league...Payton will come back next year but probably never be the same QB he was before the injury...and he'll still be better than Eli. I've also always loved the fact that Giants fans cannot admit they got the short end of the Rivers trade.

will be sitting at home munching on Doritos while watching Eli Manning in the Superbowl.

Eli will double his brother's Superbowl totals, and he will be one game behind Brady. And, he didn't need a tuck rule or videotapping the opposing team to do it.

Many of us who aren't usually football fans get interested in this game.
