They're domesticated--plus we have catnip.

FYI: My man (I'll get shit for that, I'm sure, oh fucking well) really wanted me to watch it as he took our son and a friend to see it at the theater--he was a big POTA fan from back in the day.

I liked it, hated the captivity parts but love James Franco.

She is evil reincarnated as a fuzzy grey kitten.

Abbott won't mess with her. She could control the others.

You could distract them with the laser pointer and/or hurl great big bags of catnip at them. They wouldn't know what hit them.

But these were smart apes - injected with a virus that made them smarter than normal.

What if we injected the cats with a smart virus?

The cats might realize the laser pointer was just a light.

The herb Valerian is known to be like "catnip-zilla" for cats. They'd be extra-super-duper hyper for about ten minutes, then out like a light!

Even if they did realize we were just messing with them, they can't just grab the laser pointers away from us.

The catnip should be a good counter to whatever the smart virus does anyway.

in the end they managed to speak.

So what if that smart virus gave cats the ability to adapt one of their claws as some sort of thumb

I started watching it the last time I flew. First I turned the sound off. Then I changed the channel.

Normally I was never a POTA fan but I do like Jim Franco.

I thought the plot was excellent and they pretty much explained everything that leads up to the original "Planet of the Apes". What's nice is they set the movie up perfectly for a sequel, which I might want to watch if it comes out.

Franco is pretty good. And his acting is good enough that I could follow what was going on with the sound off.

I do agree with you about the cats though.

I'm looking forward to Hugo and The Adventures of Tintin.

Just saw "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" with Gary Oldman - we loved it.

And "The Artist" which was also amazing.
