Remember the Super Ball? I once got the WORST black-eye with one... they were a BLAST!

We used to play a baseball-style game called "Over the Line" with them on my high school field because it was the only place where there was enough room to hit it with a bat and still find it. We used to argue about who was going to have to play "The Line" and played to 100 runs. Good times!

I got the black-eye while we were throwing one at the ground to see who could make it bounce the highest. I made a Herculean attempt, using every bit of body english I could muster and it bounced straight back up and hit me right in the eye so hard I had to go to the emergency room. The doctor said he was amazed it didn't crush my eye socket. I didn't just have a black-eye, it was more like a black CHEEK. Yeah, a couple weeks later there we were again doing the very same thing...

Wham-O claims that each bounce is 92% as high as the last. They're formed at a pressure of 3,500psi. And, believe it or not... the Super Bowl is named after them!

I hit one off of a tee with an old wooden driver once. No one even saw it after I hit it. I bet it went like a thousand yards.

Man, Super Balls were fun!

If I had another one, I'd no doubt hurt myself with it!

I'd either hurt myself or break something with it LOL.

I wonder if it would hurt the face of my Great Big Bertha?

within a day (and if they survived, big pieces of them eventually chipped off). I hit one with a wooden baseball bat once. That one was lost as soon as the bat made contact!

They bounced very well on a concrete slab floor covered with asbestos linoleum.

I was especially fond of the "bounce it under a table and it returns to you" trick.

That's how I broke the kitchen window.

My brothers and I were throwing it up and down the stairs, which is how we broke the ceiling light.

I went out into the street, and threw it as hard as I could onto the pavement. It bounced way up into the air, then landed in a neighbor's dense shrubbery. I never found it.

You should have seen how far we hit them with a 36" Adirondack. The strange thing I remember about it was that they were almost completely silent coming off the bat. That was the reason playing Over the Line with them was so hard... you were never sure in that first instant if the guy at bat hit it or not.

You've never seen what they REALLY could do until you've played a few games of handball with one.

The clue was about how when dropped from a ten foot height it would bounce nine feet.

The first contestant rang in and said,

"Silly Putty."

Alex came back after the correct answer and said that no, like him, if he were to fall ten feet, silly putty just goes splat.

concrete floors, walls, steel doors, concrete ceilings with recessed lighting. We would stand at opposite ends of the hallways and just RIFLE those things to each other!
Seemed to take forever for them to slow long enough to be able to catch them.
