Woo-hoo!
Some nitwit took me to court. Today was the big day. Apparently my counterclaims were more powerful than his unmitigated bullshit. He got zip. I got a few grand.
The look on the judge's face was priceless when he tried to present his case.
Anyway, just wanted to crow a bit. It's all been pretty stressful. There are better ways to make a buck.

(34,589 posts)Great to have it done with.
Last time I was in court, the Law won. $50 fine for drinking in public. And I was sternly admonished by the bailiff for humming "I fought the Law (and the Law won), which had just been covered by The Clash (to give you an idea of timing...)

(34,589 posts)Perhaps there should be a screening process where a judge or similar reviews and gives a quick opinion on the likely outcome. A reality check might save the courts much time and effort.

(34,136 posts)Where I was sued. The others were cases where I had to take people to court to get money for services provided.
Fortunately the business I am in gives me a chance to place liens - though unlike mechanic's liens, holding a lien on a horse means I have to keep caring for it. I won in all the cases, so I came out ahead.
